Game X Africa launches ESport program in Hanover Park:
Mountview High School
Welcome to the first High school ESport team from Hanover Park, 27 learners who made history by joining the NASEF endorsed program in South Africa.
.. Now don’t get it twisted, these kids always knew about gaming. FIFA, Fortnite, COD, you name it, they played it (sometimes better than they admit 😄).
But what they did not know was how far gaming can actually take them.
No one really showed them the structure, the leagues, the shoutcasting, the teams, the careers, the potential of bigger things. That’s where we came in.
We kicked things off with 27, curious, and super-hyped learners, all hungry for something different. No fancy gear, no sponsors, just a few consoles, some heart, and a whole lot of noise (and snacks… we always needed snacks).
After school turned into training time. Trash talk turned into teamwork.
We are not just playing anymore, we were building a club, a crew, a movement.
Then we made it official.
We registered with NASEF, the North America Scholastic Esports Federation, we became part of a global family.
No cap.
Now, these 27 legends are representing MVHS 2025. They learning, how to take up space in a world that is always evolving.
From the flats to the frontlines of the future this is just the beginning.
